What makes it different

How to answer a clinical question.

Most people jump straight to treatment. The Playbook shows you how to talk through the mechanism, the assessment, red flags and referral first, because the thought process is what the interviewer actually wants to hear.

Not a clinical manual — for a reason
Being straight with you

What it isn't.

It isn't a clinical manual.

It shows you how to think through common sporting injuries and how to talk about them in an interview. It won't give you a rehab protocol, and it won't teach you to manage a player pitch-side. Deciding whether a specific player is ready for Saturday isn't something you can read your way to. That's what we do together in a 1:1 session. I'd rather tell you that now than have you buy this expecting it.

What people say

From students and physios I've worked with.

The Playbook is the written version of what I take people through in a session. These are their words.

Questions

Before you buy.

Who is it for?

Physiotherapy students, newly qualified physios and aspiring sports physios.

Will this get me a job?

No book can promise that. What it will do is show you what clubs look for, why some applications get ignored, and exactly what to do differently.

I'm not in the UK. Is it still useful?

The principles travel — getting experience, CVs, applications, interviews, choosing CPD. The specifics on registration and pitch-side qualifications are UK-focused.

I'm a first-year student. Too early?

No — it's the best time. Most of what holds students back is not knowing what to prioritise, and that's easier to fix early than late.

What format is it?

A PDF you download immediately after buying. Read it on anything, print it if you want.

How is it different from the free Roadmap?

The Roadmap shows you the route: the five things that matter. The Playbook walks you through every step of it, in eight chapters and 60 pages: getting experience, your CV, applications and the interview.

Is there a refund?

Because it's an instant download, you get the whole book the moment you buy, so sales are final. That's why this page shows you exactly what's inside before you decide.

What this is

Everything I know, applied to where you actually are.

For physiotherapy students, newly graduated physios and physios who aspire to work in sport.

There's plenty of general advice about getting into sport. None of it knows your degree, your city, your experience, or what you're afraid of. This does — because you tell me before we start, and the hour is built around it.

  • Sixty minutes, one-to-one, on Google Meet
  • Built from your answers — not a script
  • A written action plan within 24 hours
  • The resource for whatever we covered
What we cover

You choose where we start.

Six areas. Tell me which when you apply, and that's where the hour goes.

Career pathway & getting in

Where you are, where you're trying to get to, and the realistic next step from here.

CV, interviews & standing out

What clubs actually look for on a CV, and why most applications get ignored.

Pitch-side decisions

What to do when a player goes down and every eye on the touchline is on you.

Rehab & return-to-play

Criteria over timelines. And handling the coach who wants him back Saturday.

A case you're stuck on

Bring a real one. We work it through together.

Anything MSK or sport

Whatever's relevant to where you're heading.

How it works

Five steps. No back-and-forth.

1

Book and pay

One or three sessions, paid securely through Stripe. Two minutes, no DMs.

2

I email you

Within 24 hours, to agree a date and time that actually suits you.

3

Tell me where you are

A few short questions: your situation, your goal, what's hard right now. I read them before we meet.

4

The session

Sixty minutes on Google Meet, built around your answers.

5

Your action plan

Inside 24 hours: a written plan specific to you, plus the resource for what we covered.

What you leave with

A written plan. Yours, not a template.

Within 24 hours of the session: where you are, the honest gap, what to do in the next 30 days, and what we'll cover next time. Written after the call, for you specifically.

Plus the resource for whatever we covered — the pitch-side framework, the return-to-play decision guide, or the career and CV material.

Who books this

Four different points on the same road.

The student

You're hereSecond or third year. Doing well on placement. No idea how any of it turns into a job in sport.

The hourWhat to do this year that actually counts — and what to stop worrying about.

The new grad

You're hereQualified. In a rotation or a clinic. Applying for sporting roles and hearing nothing back.

The hourYour CV read the way a club reads it, and the two or three moves that change the answer.

The clinician

You're hereTwo to five years in private practice or the NHS. Good at the job. Sport keeps pulling.

The hourHow your experience translates, what's genuinely missing, and a realistic route across.

Already in sport

You're hereSaturday pitch-side at semi-pro or grassroots. Wanting the next level and unsure what it takes.

The hourPitch-side decisions, return-to-play calls, and being the physio a club wants to keep.

A good fit

  • You want an honest read on where you are right now
  • You're applying for roles in sport and not hearing back
  • You've got an interview coming up and want to prepare properly
  • You want a clear plan for the next 30 days, written down for you after the call

Not the right fit

  • You're looking for a job placement or an introduction to a club
  • You need treatment for an injury of your own

Sound familiar?

These are real messages I get, most weeks.

“I am so lost right now when it comes to my career goal and how I want to get there.”

Physiotherapy student

“I'm sure you get a heap of messages like this, but — any advice for a new grad?”

Newly qualified

“I've been practising for almost two years. Any advice for entering the sports setting?”

Clinic physio

“It's my first session with a club and I'm so nervous.”

Sports therapist

You can't answer any of those in a DM. You can in an hour, if the hour is built around the person asking.

After a session

What people say when the hour's over.

Most people who book are nervous. They've never had a mentorship session and they're half-convinced they'll waste an hour. Here's what physiotherapy students and physios wrote afterwards — screenshots, not paraphrases.

Questions

Before you book.

Who is 1:1 physio mentorship for?

Physiotherapy students, new grad physios, aspiring sports clinicians, and sports physios who want to develop in MSK and sports physiotherapy. You must be at least 18 years old to book.

Will this get me a job?

No one can honestly promise that. What I can do is help you understand what clubs actually look for, where your gaps are, and what your realistic next step is.

Do you make introductions to clubs?

I don't pass CVs on or make introductions, because that wouldn't be fair on the people I work with. The sessions are about getting you ready to make that approach yourself.

I'm a student with no experience. Is it worth it?

Often it's the best time. Most of what holds students back is not knowing what to prioritise — and that's fixable in an hour.

I'm not in the UK. Does that matter?

Sessions are online, so location isn't a problem. Registration, visa and qualification rules vary a lot by country, and I'll be honest about what I do and don't know about yours.

Can I get advice about my own injury?

These sessions are about your career rather than clinical care, so for an injury of your own it's best to see a physio in person.

What happens after I pay?

You get a confirmation straight away, then a personal email from me within 24 hours to agree a date and time. Sessions currently run Monday 9am–2pm, and Saturdays 9am–1pm, UK time, limited monthly slots available. You also answer a few short questions so I can prepare.
